What are the benefits of using Givealittle’s Payroll Giving?

A steady stream of small donations can make a big difference to charities and causes and help them operate in an impactful way. And you can select more than one organisation to give to. Donating just $15 a fortnight adds up to $390 over a year! When using Payroll Giving to donate, your tax credit of 33% is automatically applied. This means if you donate $15, only $10 will be deducted from your pay.

Who can I donate to using Givealittle’s Payroll Giving?

When using our Payroll Giving Plan to make donations from your pay, you can only support organisations with Tax Donee status. This is because a 33% tax credit is applied immediately from your employer through your payroll system. Should you wish to donate to a page without Tax Donee Status, you can set up regular giving via your credit/debit card.

Is there a minimum donation for Payroll Giving?

The minimum is $5, as required by Inland Revenue for tax purposes.

Can I give regularly to more than one organisation page?

You certainly can. Add as many beneficiaries as you like to your Payroll Giving Plan.

When do the beneficiaries receive the funds from my Payroll Giving?

Funds are paid out to the organisations between the 20th and the 25th of the month following your payroll giving funds being received.

Is there a cost to using Givealittle’s Payroll Giving?

There is our standard 5% fee that is charged to the organisations - this goes towards running the site. We do not charge a fee for donors to use Payroll Giving and you can give a little extra to offset the service fee during set up of your plan.

What if I want to cancel my Payroll Giving plan, or make changes?

If you want to cancel your plan, you will need to let your work's payroll team know.

If you are making changes to the monetary value of your donation, you can adjust your plan in MyGivealittle and give the updated PDF to your payroll team.

If you want to change your beneficiaries but keep the donation value the same, log into My Givealittle and edit the recipients of your Payroll Giving Plan.

What happens to Payroll Giving payments if the Givealittle Page closes?

The donation will be received and put into your Payroll Giving Account - you can then use the funds to make a donation to another organisation with Tax Donee Status.
