Second to last Saturday training swim and Corsia provided a challenging sea today - bit of a swell and didn't matter which direction swum in it was a bit topsy-tervey (not as tough as white caps though!!). Definitely didn't swim in a straight line today!!! Few zzzs on the couch this afternoon proves I worked for it today ... of course nothing to do with a few wines last night ;-)
Wow what a way to start Waitangi Day! Perfect conditions over at Corsia this morning - calm still and sunny. Did my favourite course, and Cathy did her longest sea swim to date Well done Cathy! Think I've found another swimmer for next year's 2.8km event!!! Just us in the water to start with - by the time I got out there were a lot more swimmers out, and why wouldn't they on a morning like that :-)
Geeze it felt like I was swimming through jelly this morning - was my body that tired and muscle fatigued? Surely not - certainly felt it Nope not the case 'cause it took no time to get back to the first buoy. Phew! Current was probably the strongest I've swum in - am sure I swum well in excess of 22 Feb distance, all good clocking up the strokes :-) Cheers
Great swim at Corisa last night with Lou - little swell going on but we blitzed it, thankfully no white caps to contend with! Reckon we did approx 2/3rd of the event distance, which is good going - remember Chch waters aren't as warm as they are north of here!!
Had wicked training session today - in the water at 7.15am for 1hr 35mins - not sure how far I went but thinking it MUST equate to at least 3.5km. And NO Anna there weren't any sharks, and no I didn't think of Jaws once.... Looking forward to tomorrow night's swim with Lou
