Jape and Gary have completed their journey from Shanghai to Beijing after an epic 146km ride yesterday, having biked a total of 1654kms. They finished their bike ride in Tiananmen Square. They have had a fantastic time in China and have met some great people along the way. They will be doing some sight seeing in the next few days, then on Sunday they will leave by Bullet train and reach their starting point in Shanghai. Jape and Gary really appreciate the support they have received from donations to the research for a cure for Type 1 diabetes.

Jape and Gary are now over the 1000km mark and are experiencing reasonably hot weather. They have been helped along the way by very friendly people, helping them change their tyres, buying them lunch and giving them things for their bikes. They are seeing so much by cycling and enjoying it all.

Jape and Gary are averaging 96.5kms per day. They are on a secondary road with barriers separating opposing traffic and cyclists and scooters have their own lane. Very few bends and hills.
