Meeting my Imaginary Friend for real!

    OK, fundraiser all over and done; so now for the fun bit:

    Kitty and I would like to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts, we both really need this break and the excitement is quite palapable in the air (everytime there is a lull in conversation one of us will go "ARMAGEDDON")

    Between online selling of my wares (thanks to everyone who bought some of my pretties - I'm packaging up a bunch for overseas today) and donations via givealittle and paypal (thank you to everyone who gave, everyone who pushed me to ask, and everyone who cheered from the sidelines) enough was raised that:

    We are booked into a nice motel just across the road from the venue, WE HAVE EMERALD VIP PASSES (which the added bonus of the VIP lounge where I can go recharge and take meds will be a fine thing) Beth Dawson that LUSH dress you gave me will finally get a proper outing to the VIP cocktail party) and we won't have any concerns over starving to death or sleeping on park benches. (No we haven't forgotten about booking flights we just haven't done it yet - a couple of people nominated us to thte Air New Zealand Fairy so we'll give that a chance to happen, since all our luck seems to be playing into this event wink emoticon )

    10 weeks. Holy shit we'll go mad. Love you all.

  • Nearly all over!

    At midnight tomorrow this finishes - we have raised enough for Kitty and I to go Armageddon Expo with Full VIP passes, and are booked into a motel that's about as close to the venue as realistically possible! Anything further that comes in from now on will just make a trip a little more entertaining, allowing us to do more.

    Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts, we both need this holiday but even more than that we both need to feel a bit of human kindness in action - enough bad stuff happens to you and it gets harder to see the good.

    Faith in humanity: Restored!

    We've raised enough that we can definitely go - I've been selling some handmade jewellery over on facebook to add some money to the pool ( https://www.facebook.com/rtmiss/media_set?set=a.10200829909986673.1073741841.1731486768&type=3&pnref=story&hc_location=ufi )

    I would still LOVE to be able to get up to the point where we can afford VIP tickets, which make the whole trip just that much more special.

    So in a little over 2 days we raised $1000 (full disclosure, around $100 was paypal'd to me for the trip) Kitty and I would still love the opportunity to get VIP passes ($700 for one full pass and one partner pass), which gets us into the cocktail party and avoids such boring things as queues for autographs and photos. And allows us to attend the VIP panels which sound like a load of fun.

    I love you guys so much for this - we have reached the point where THE TRIP IS ON!

    I think we're almost at the point of saying the trip is definitely on - obviously the more that we manage to pull together the more Kitty and I get to do while we are there, but just GOING is enough to have us both very excited. Thanks to everyone who has given both financially and with moral support. <3

    So, some of you have no idea who my Imaginary Friend is... meet Paul Blackthorne, a lovely gentleman from England (why do I always fall for the Brits?) based in America. Currently in Arrow as Captain Quentin Lance.

    I've been vaguely interacting with him on twitter and he's just lovely, the opportunity to meet him has slipped past me twice this year and this time he's going to be so close it'll drive me crazy to miss out!!
