Kia ora whanua. Lance arrived back home in New Zealand on Sunday morning, 12 days after his passing, and was brought home to his waiting family in Kaikohe later that night.

A special karakia will be held at the LDS Chapel in Kaikohe at 11am on Tuesday 7 July. From there Lance will travel to Te Maata marae, Tautoro. The funeral service will be held at 11am on Wednesday 8 July at Te Maata marae, Tautoro. Lance will be laid to rest close to his Papa Dinky at Reihana TauKawau cemetery.

Thank you again for all of your love and support. We are so relieved to have him home and grateful for everything you have and are doing to honour Lance and support his family at this time.

First of all - wow - $12,000! Thank you so much to all 103 generous donors and all of your kind thoughts and prayers.

It's official, Lance, Jessie's and Helen's tickets are booked and they'll arrive in New Zealand Sunday morning.

Tentative plans are that he will stay at his grandparent's house in Kaikohe Sunday and Monday night. Tuesday will be a service at the LDS Kaikohe chapel. Tuesday night he'll stay at Te Maata marae (10 km outside of Kaikohe. No cellphone signal or broadband connection). The final funeral service will be at the marae on Wednesday and he'll be laid to rest in the family cemetery in Tautoro (not far from the marae).

Again, thank you for everything you are doing to support Lance and the family. We hope to see or hear from you over the coming few days. If you'd like to send a message, photo or video here's the link to a Google Drive account where you can upload to (must have a Google/GMail/YouTube account) - https://goo.gl/Zulbsx

Kia ora whanau. Thanks again for your kindness and generosity. After only two days we've already hit nearly $10,000!

Jessie and Helen arrived safely in Japan early this morning and were met by one of Lance's childhood friends from Kaikohe, Helaman Armstrong, who is acting as guide and translator.

To Lance's Tokyo friends who met our Kiwi family at his apartment please know that we recognise your loss and offer you our love and strength. Thank you for being there during his life and continuing to be there in this time of sadness.

The repatriation process will continue on Monday when the city hall and other official places reopen after the weekend. In the meantime Jessie and Helen will get some much needed rest and sort through Lance's stuff, take care of his pets and pack up the apartment.

We'll post more updates here as they come.

Thanks everyone for your wonderful messages and donations. Less than 24hrs in and you've already contributed more than $6000! You're making a real difference during this difficult time.

Jessie and Helen flew out to Japan this morning and wanted to thank all of you who have done so many thoughtful and helpful things. It's been really heartening for them to see Lance's memory honoured by his friends and family from all over the world.

Thank you again. Keep an eye out for further updates.
