Mostyn has been battling a rare disease called anti nmdar encephalitis. This condition causes the sufferer to lose their bodily functions.

Nationwide

For over 100 days Mostyn has battled away and it has only just begun. Recovery times vary from anywhere between a few months to years. House renovations are inevitable to ensure he not only maintains his health (immune supressed), but to also ensure he is able to move around.

Update for 04/04/2013  4 April 2013

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s7YOOqsH8oE&feature=youtube_gdata_player Mostyns Movement Disorder This is a link to a utube video of Mostyn. The anti nmdar encephalitis causes the victim to have a movement disorder. The movement is continuous with varying intensity of movement. At its worse it takes two adults to restrain him to prevent him hitting, scratching or biting himself. Stopping only when he sleeps. It is a vicious cycle as the movement prevents him sleeping, in the first 3 weeks of this illness we counted only 15 hours of sleep. Now on a cocktail of medication to subdue his movement (enough to make the average adult go to sleep) he is now able to get some rest although it still remains limited. In time it is thought this movement will go as the antibodies are destroyed (if the treatment works) but for now and the past 100 days it is the constant in Mostyn's life.
