With no end in sight to the atrocities, the Abu Raida family needs your help to survive.
Nationwide
It is currently Ramadan, with no end in sight to the atrocities. More than 160 days into the conflict, the Abu Raida family is struggling to put food on the table. A UN-backed report has warned that famine is imminent by July (https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/famine-expected-by-may-gaza-says-un-backed-report-2024-03-18/).
This family also requires other necessities, but humanitarian aid is only trickling through the border and air-dropped in insufficient numbers. Food and diapers are available in the market but this family needs help to buy them, albeit at exorbitant prices.
We have provided monetary assistance successfully a few times before. However, their funds are dwindling, and they need our help again. The money goes to their family as well as an orphan of extended family whom they have taken in. They have also helped other Palestinians who are starving in desperate situations.
Asif is my husband
And he is a friend of the father of this family in Gaza.
The money will be spent on food, diapers and other necessities to help out Yasser Hassan Abu Raida and his family.
Yasser met with a friend who was released from illegal Israeli detainment this week. 25 April 2024
He updated us with this:
I am disappointed and broken my friend. Yesterday, I met a friend of mine who was released from Israeli prisons after 61 days of detention. He told me many horrors that happened to his uncle, including beatings and broken bones without treatment, walking barefoot on glass, and falling into cold water without clothes. Feet and hands were shackled for 61 days without moving. They are not allowed to go to the bathroom. Urinating and defecating in their clothes. They are not allowed to shower. In prison, they also bring police dogs in to bite them and urinate and defecate on them without allowing them to change their clothes or disinfect the place of these dogs. The period between 4 am and 11 pm is not allowed to sleep or move. Only with their hands and feet tied and their eyes covered. Also, those whose bones in their hands, feet, and back were broken were not treated or given painkillers. Only after two weeks, they were given a sedative without being shown to the doctor. They are also accused of baseless charges, such as participating in October 7 or belonging to Hamas and the military factions. They are brought before the court and prison sentences are issued against them without the presence of any defense lawyer. They are not even allowed to speak or defend themselves. During the investigation, they are beaten with iron pipes. They were also transported inside by Israeli tanks, more than 20 people inside this tank on top of each other.
