Please help us raise funds to keep our community hub doors open!
Auckland
Established in March 2018, the Whangaparaoa Community Hub has provided a long-needed community connection and activation space for the Whangaparaoa Peninsula community.
From the Hub people can access support, join in events, get more connected, and develop activities that meet their needs. This all contributes to a greater sense of mental health and wellbeing.
Specifically this has included: free public health consultations for families; local access to disability and mental health support; special needs Christmas event; anti-natal programmes for expecting parents; creative activities for older people; parents ‘chat and play’ groups; repair café and composting workshops; school holidays events; local network meetings; co-working days, information evenings and a central place to ‘pop-in’ and get informed about local events, activities and support.
While the long-term goal is to establish a permanent purpose-built Hub in Whangaparaoa, the current space at 8/707 Whangaparāoa Road is visible, accessible, and has been specifically modified to meet the needs of the community. The Hub currently operates on a mix of philanthropic funding and local board support. To continue to operate however, the partnership needs to generate additional funds to keep the doors open.
We invite community members and local businesses to make a donation, big or small, to assist us with meeting our operating costs so we can continue to provide a place of connection and support in our community. Through your support we can continue to provide this valuable community resource.
The Trust's aim is to provide a multi use inclusive family service centre for the well-being of all members of the Hibiscus Coast community.
