We are The Tangata Whenua Community and Voluntary Sector Research Centre (Community Research) and we help make good relevant research, that can support development, accessible to all the vast and varied groups that make up our communities.
We gather community research and share it with a broader audience. We create a hub for researchers, iwi and community organisations to share their work. We encourage good methods in community research and we communicate the benefits of community-based research. We publish resources which help people do community research well. This makes a healthier, better connected sector.
Community Research operates a Treaty-based model of governance, to reflect the partnership established in the Treaty of Waitangi.

* More groups resourced to do their research and evaluation, including first-timers
* More groups likely to undertake well-managed, community-led research which makes changes in their community, yields better insights and findings

Since 2008 we has supported people throughout Aotearoa by:
* creating a database listing over 300 pieces of quality research
* sharing the latest news and guidance amongst a vast network of community organisations
* profiling 300 researchers
* creating valuable research collections, including Whanau Ora Research
* offering the Kuhu Mai programme
* running accessible research webinars and events

With your contribition Community Research has been able to provide key webinars with 2,548 people registered in the last 12 months.
We continue to provide access to a vast repository of research and resources for the Tangata Whenua, Community and Voluntary Sector.
We use YouTube Live and web-based technologies in immediate and powerful ways to share ‘what works’ in communities.
