Just Atelier

Stitch Kitchen is a place for creative community-based solutions to reduce textile waste.

Otago

Stitch Kitchen is a studio run by Just Atelier Trust, which encourages creativity, skill sharing and community engagement while addressing problems of textile waste from fashion, by bringing people together to learn how to reduce, reuse and recycle textiles in fun practical workshops.

Run by a small group of committed volunteers, Stitch Kitchen promotes personal creativity, confidence, independence, community and resilience through time-honoured skills of mending, upcycling and making your own.

More about us

Just Atelier Trust runs Stitch Kitchen sewing studio; a new story of gathering friends together around the table and sharing ideas, skills and resources to achieve more than what we imagine on our own, one stitch at a time.

Located in the heart of Dunedin's historic warehouse precinct (world famous for our street art), Stitch Kitchen brings together like-minded crafters, makers, artists of all walks, who share a love of creative design, our environment, and our community.

Here you will find info on the sewing classes and creative projects we get up to. We invite you to get in touch with any questions, suggestions or info about local happenings.

Stitch Kitchen is the new name for the work of Just Atelier Trust, which has been coordinating classes and leading events on sustainable fashion since 2013.
