Christchurch's one and only FESTA is returning this Labour Weekend in its new biennial format. Experience a reimagined Christchurch with over 30 events and projects from 21-24 October, with many of them free!

The theme for this year’s festival is 'We Have the Means', which focuses on citizen-initiated urban regeneration and sustainability through the reuse of waste materials in design. Enjoy spectacular large-scale architectural installations, workshops, talks, pop-up projects, family events, foraging tours, live performance, artworks and more.

Our headline event, Lean Means, is set to attract thousands and is live for one night only on Saturday 22 October (rain date 23 October). Enjoy this spectacular temporary city made from reused ‘waste’ materials, where inner city spaces are transformed with imaginative installations.

Inspired by the pioneering practice of leading Dutch architects, Superuse Studios, the Lean Means installations are designed and fabricated by students from seven leading design and architecture schools from across Australasia. This temporary city will be full of art, events, music, markets, food trucks, cafes, bars, kids activities and more!

FESTA 2016 runs over Labour Weekend from 21-24 October. Additional events and full programme to be revealed!
