Your donation will help us continue to support the Christchurch vegan and vegetarian community while also promoting a plant-based lifestyle to the rest of New Zealand.

We organise dozens events annually, including the Vegan Expo, and remain the country’s most active vegan advocacy and community group.

Please donate to support our work, which includes:

- supporting members, volunteers and those seeking advice or support

- educating the community about the benefits of a plant-based diet

- visiting schools and offering guest speaker opportunities

- advocating a healthy and cruelty-free lifestyle via our community events

- running our annual Vegan Expo which has become a huge success and includes cooking demonstrations, film screenings, live music, speakers and highlights local vegan-friendly businesses

- a community based monthly Vegan Night Mākete showcasing the best local plant-based foods and goods, with live music and free entry

- publishing free fortnightly newsletters about local news and events

- offering a Vegan Angel service of meals and baked treats for those in need in our community.

The Christchurch Vegan Society provides education, support, events and resources to anyone interested in plant-based lifestyles. Our work fosters kotahitanga (togetherness) and promotes the importance of kaitiakitanga (protecting our environment).

Unfortunately we’ve been broken into 24 September 2022

Someone broke into our storage space at the Phillipstown Community Hub and stole our branded gazebo, merchandise (such as vegan badges, key rings and Snapy insect catchers), hot plate and eftpos machine. We know these items won’t be much use for anyone else, but it’s a real blow for us to have to replace everything.

If you can spare a few dollars to help us get replacements, we’d be very grateful.

We are a registered charity so all donations over $5 are tax deductible too.
