Running a half marathon through the Maasai Mari Desert in Kenya at the time of the Wildebeest Migration to raise funds for So They Can.
Canterbury
Support me on my personal challenge to run a half marathon through the Maasai Mari desert in Kenya at the time of the Wildebeest Migration in August. Overcoming a back injury has been a massive hurdle, and I am still amazed that I can actually run. A mental challenge in itself I'm pleased to have a great network of friends and family to support me, laugh at me in my workout gear, and look on as complexed as I am to be running!!
As a good friend said, "If I could choose one friend who would run a half marathon, and do it in Kenya, Brittney - you would be in the bottom 10%!"
All donations support "So They Can" projects in Kenya and Tanzania, which I will be lucky enough to visit and volunteer at the projects in Nakaru.
So They Can embody so much more than giving education and shelter to disadvantaged children. They also have a Teachers College, Business School and Educational Farming set up and provide jobs for women through craft and sewing. It is more than being just about the now, but setting systems in place for sustainability to teach new skills to share for future generations.
