Hi there, quick update to say that I've made it back to Auckland. I arrived back on Saturday around dinner time.

After my last update I ended up staying with my awesome auntie and uncle in Taupo to avoid having to ride directly into the storm that blew through most of the country.

I ended up coming back from there in one trip to make up the the two days I spent waiting out the weather (sitting on the couch and eating cake 👌).

I made good time on the ride home, with most of the ride going down the western side of the Waikato on quiet, scenic roads. I was even glad to see Huntly, being in desperate need of a snack.

Thanks again for all the support.

    Charles

    Hi everyone,

thanks so much for all the support and donations. Thought I'd post a quick process update, currently near Taupo planning on taking a day or two off to wait for this big storm blow through.

Made good distance on the first two days, getting to the ferry bang on time for a sailing on day one. Day two I had a slow start and then made my way to Wanganui River, where I had booked accommodation at a nunnery. Today was shorter but still quite a grind up to and around the Tongariro National park with a draining headwind.

But overall so far so good!
