Fundraising for Spirit - We all deserve a place to belong.

As a part of Greyhounds as Pets annual appeal, I will be fundraising throughout the month of February and helping raise money for Greyhounds looking for homes, like Spirit.

Spirit (Jinja Spirit) is an absolute cutie, currently in foster care in Auckland. Spirit is a real mature lady (at 7 years old) who is just looking for the chance to find her forever home and whānau. Our older adoptables always manage to really pull on my heart strings. Spirit has lived half of the average greyhound life span and still hasn't found her furever home; imagine living half or your life and still not having a place to belong! Because having a running routine has always helped me through parts of my life where I was struggling with my own sense of belonging, I am going to keep a goal of running at least 7K's per week in honor of Spirit and her search for a home. For every $10 + donation that I raise, I will add another Kilometer on to my goal (capping at 35 total kilometers per week, because I want to make sure I can keep my end of this bargain).
