First NZ Alzheimer's Assistance Dog

$15,775 of $20,000 goal
Given by 133 generous donors in 8 weeks

All done! We've (you and us) have raised over $20,000 and Lexus has now come into our lives.

Waikato

Thanks to a very generous donation straight to Assistance Dogs NZ, we reached our target in 6 weeks!

The surplus raised of nearly $1000 will go to assist the trust in its wonderful work.

Lexus will give Ann back a level of independence she hasn't had for some years. Ann has already become more independent after just a week.

Lexus is on holiday with us over Christmas. She is familiarising herself with our usual haunts. Already, she is starting to "find the car" in many different situations.

We hope Lexus and Ann will become "poster girls" for a positive approach to dealing with Alzheimers.

The story went national in October. http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/72912216/labrador-gives-alzheimers-sufferer-independence
