Thankyou to everyone who has given, Vivian and Jack are now living in their own apartment with regular trips to Hospital and Hospice.....Vivian has to have injections (in her leg) morning and night, so they have chosen to live within 50 metres of both Vivian's doctor and the only chemist locally that can do Vivian's subcut meds. Sophie lives with grandparents.

      12 May 2014

Vivian is living mostly in the Hospice full time now, after making the decision to have no more hospital treatments . So no more operations, no more chemo (There wasn't much chance anyway of this, Vivian was too unwell for chemo) and no radiotherapy as it would make her bowel swell, and probably cause further blockage... The operation she had 2 weeks ago for an illeostomy is not really working, so things are not easy.....However, she did spend a couple of hours yesterday with Sophie for mother's day, but she tires easily... She would still like to be able to day so quality day trips with Jack and Sophie.

      6 April 2014

Vivian is now living at Auckland Hospital as the hospice is not able to do her intravenous meds.... She is not able to have chemo as she is currently too unwell... She has tumors in her bowel that are even preventing the tests that doctors need to do...She has a bad Staph infection which has now caused a hole in her lung as well. Things are not good...We will be investigating alternatives...Please help if you are able to.

      24 March 2014

Vivian had a fabulous night on Saturday... Although she is currently having to stay in Auckland ward 64 , she got to have day leave to attend a Celebration of Life and early 21st party , all dressed in a 1950's costume... It was a fabulous night with Vivian even singing one song with her sister... She was very tired and had to leave a bit early, but I'm pretty sure she enjoyed every minute, she certainly smiled a lot.

Bad night for Vivian. she came home from Hospice thinking that she would be able to spend some quality time here with Sophie and Jack and the family, but her pain last night was too severe, and she had to be rushed into Auckland Hospital, as Hospice has now filled her bed. Not a good day at all.

Many of you have been waiting for an update but we couldn't give this until we were sure...Vivian is now unlikely to be able to have chemo, she is currently too unwell... She is still planning a trip to the zoo with Sophie as a day trip with family, which we are all hoping she will enjoy greatly... Jack has ""moved in"" to the hospice to be with Vivian.. Family are spending as much quality time with Vivian as we can. Today she Baked with her sisters and brother...Vivian is planning a celebration of her life...

Vivian is now in Hospice and is very unwell, she hopes to start chemo soon, but her health is currently preventing it. Her new husband Jack is with her daily. Please help her if you can to achieve some sort of quality of life...She would love to take Sophie to the Zoo, so that is her new goal....

      2 March 2014

Vivian and Jack are back from their honeymoon... A trip to Hospital in Rotorua did not dissuade them from trying to enjoy their time together.... Unfortunately Vivian had to be taken straight to Hospice when she got back home, so her meds can be sorted and her condition established..... We are hoping she can come out tomorrow.... People are saying how brave Vivian is, But they really have no idea just how brave she is.... Vivian is staying the night tonight in a room one door away from where her precious Nana died almost 2 years ago.....It took every ounce of courage she had to walk into that room.... THat's my brave girl...

Well that happened fast , How special is this? And how romantic ? Vivian was proposed to this week by Jack , her new Fiance (Sophie's Daddy) and now they are getting married on Saturday in Red Beach it seems... So everyone is now racing around donating stuff and offering help to make this happen.... Vivian was told by her doctors that any wedding needed to happen soon, so they choose Saturday....Now we are all praying that Vivian will stay well enough for the service, it's a big ask ... But she's going to make a beautiful bride, and Jack will make an awesome son.... (Vivian's Dad)

      14 February 2014

Not a good day at all for Vivian... We went up to the hospital with Sophie for 8 hours today...Pain and nausea is really not a good mix.... Morphine isn't working so she has now been put on ketamine.....She has been unable to eat because her stomach hasn't felt like it, and whatever she does eat just comes back up....She can't start chemo until she is well enough to handle it... She also had to have another line put in today under surgery, she said she felt it all, and was very upset...Her man Jack is up there tonight for valentines day, but with the ketamine our poor girl is probably sleeping. .Please pray and send positive vibes, and please Donate and Share if you are able to..... Thanks...

Update 12/02/2014 : Wendy and I spent about 4 hours with Vivian today at the hospital, she is still not feeling like eating at all, and quite nauseous which is not a good combination... The pain pump now has antinausea meds going directly in automagically as well, and she is preparing to undergo a small surgery in the next couple of days to add the portcath (portable catheter) which will be used for chemo when it starts .....It's all a bit too much and overwhelming.....Please pray and send positive vibes that Vivian will get through all this, and be able to feel like eating again soon....and be able to keep it down...If people wish to leave a message for Vivian on this page we have created for her then please do, we will make sure that she sees it... Yahn (Vivs dad) https://www.facebook.com/VivianandSophie

  • Update for 11/02/2014

      11 February 2014

This is Vivian's Mum and Dad, Vivian is back in Hospital after a pain filled day, they have now put her on a pain pump straight into her tummy that is a bit more portable and continuous which hopefully means she will be able to come back home in a few days... Sophie is staying at Grandmas and Daddy (Jack) sees her regularly, she will be coming home as well soon, and the family can be back together with hopefully a lot less pain for a while.... Thankyou for following Vivian and Sophie's Journey
