Tragic Family Event at Neco Sushi
Owner of Neco Sushi, Marie, is out of critical care and on a long road to recovery. Financial support is sought while the business is closed

Browns Bay experienced an horrific event on 28 March 2024 that is uncharacteristic of the area, and shocked the community. An act of family violence at the well-known Neco Sushi at 57 Clyde Road resulted in one death and another critically injured. Marie, the owner of Neco Sushi, miraculously survived being stabbed several times. Marie is now stable and beginning a long process of recovery. During her period of recovery she will be unable to open her business. There has been an outpouring of sadness and support from hundreds of people in the community who are very keen to help at this critical time for Marie and her sons. Hence this Givealittle page. Marie and her family will need financial support while she convalesces.

Neco Sushi has been a member of the Browns Bay business community for many years. The shop and its owner, Marie, are very much loved by locals. We, the Browns Bay Business Association, support the interests of our member businesses.
Use of funds
Donations will cover the cost of business overheads, including rent, while Neco Sushi remains closed.
Donations to be paid to Marie's eldest son David.

Neco Sushi 18 April 2024
Marie and her sons have asked us to extend a massive thank you to everyone who has generously made donations. The money will go towards shop rent and overheads whilst it is closed. They are overwhelmed by the community's continued support, not only via donations, but also the outpouring of prayers, messages of concern and tokens of care that have been left at Neco Sushi. These will be passed on to Marie for her to enjoy.
Marie is conscious, speaking, and gets a little stronger every day. She will be moved to rehabilitation next week for the next phase of her long road to full recovery.
The family is still in discussions about the reopening of Neco Sushi.
