Rogel has a Diffuse Large B cell Non Hodgkins Lymphoma and wishes to see his mum and family before his cancer prevents him to travel.
Bay of Plenty
Rogel Flores is a 31 year old Filipino who came to New Zealand in 2012 to be reunited with his loving partner Arlene who is a nurse at BOP DHB. They are here to take a chance for a better life. They are currently living in Whakatane the Sunshine Capital of New Zealand. He is very friendly, easy going, always lending a hand to a mate or to anyone in need, a bit of a joker, loves his basketball, and his passion for fishing is limitless.
Sometime in September 2014 their dream was shattered by an unforgiving cancer disease. All their plans were put on hold and the only thing they could think of is to get Rogel better. After a year had passed, all the treatments had failed and along with the chance of a better life. Rogel fought the bravest battle but never had any courage left to tell his mum that he is not well. He also fears that his old and fragile mum might not be able to cope with the sad truth about his fate.
Rogel is now categorized as a palliative patient which is the most heartbreaking news his partner ever had. However, they will not give up and wants to see his mum and be able to tell her personally of his journey.
Please open your hearts and together let us make Rogel's wish come true to see his mum. All donations will go towards his airfare and on-going cost of care.
