A young passionate NZ sprinter needs help to continue pursuing his dream

I'm Joe Dolphin, an 18 yo sprinter from Auckland. Despite battling multiple hamstring strains and a painful bone spur, I won the NZ Secondary Schools 100m title in 10.58. Both my dad, an Olympian, and my coach Joseph Millar, the fastest man in NZ history over 200m have helped me along the way. I've run times significantly quicker than both of them did at 18. My fastest time this season is a 10.54, .04 seconds outside the world under 20 champs qualifying time.

However, ongoing pain from a bone spur on my ankle hampers my progress, training & competition. My coach's relocation to Tauranga adds financial strain for travel. I'm doing what I can in the gym and on the spin bike until treatment, planned for May.

My car, essential for transport, urgently needs repairs and is becoming dangerous to drive. Issues include: fallen roof lining, damaged cv joint, overheating, gearbox. My family & I spent our savings on repairs, but more problems arise. My part time job that I work alongside training & studying can no longer cover the ongoing repair costs.

I've made it this far thanks to my family. Mum, nan & pop have supported my athletics journey financially from the very beginning.
