I'm walking the length of New Zealand - the Te Araroa Trail, raising money for the Women's Refuge NZ & Sustainable Coastlines.
Auckland
From September 4th, 2016 till February 2017 I'll be going bush, from Cape Reinga to Bluff.
On the 20th of March 2017 I just completed Te Araroa - walking just over 3000km in 6 months.
We have already raised $6000 for my two main charities ($1 per km for each):
Social: The Women's Refuge - A safe home goes a long way towards a happy home; Safe, empowered women: safe children: a better society.
Environmental: Sustainable Coastlines do so much to increase awareness, create educational opportunities and to clean up our coasts. I will attempt to pick up rubbish along the way on the coastlines and more inland. Keep plastics and farm effluent out of our oceans, and keep New Zealand beautiful!
We have now reached this target! Any proceeds above this $6000 raised (including the 5% Givealittle charge incurred) between now and the 30th of March 2017 will be spilt between HUHA (Helping you help animals) who are currently fundraising to build a new building for their no-kill animal shelter, and the Te Araroa Trust - allowing visitors and kiwis alike to go explore more of New Zealand and without whom I would never have been able to do this walk!
Sponsor me for 5km~ 10km! Any amount will help :)

Thank you for all your support!!

Your kindness and moral support will be invaluable for me on the journey, your money will help clean up New Zealand and help support families in need, help house abandoned animals AND help ensure the Te Araroa remains and strengthens as a pathway though New Zealand.
Omg! It's done!! 23 March 2017
The last just-over-three-months has been a blissful blur of amazing vistas, hard long days, river crossings, mountain pass climbs and cherished new friendships- meeting trail angels and fellow te araroa trampers. The $6000 goal has been met and I now have two other charities on board- an animal shelter- the largest no-kill shelter in New Zealand and Te Araroa Trust: who do their work, their tireless negotiations with private land owners, help with maintenance of local (council) and national (DOC) tracks and continue to supply resources for free to hikers of the trail, all solely on donations.
I have been incredibly blessed to have been able to spend the summer (at times crummy as it was! :P) outside and in the New Zealand wilderness and exploring New Zealand's smaller towns. 3000km done, one week to go for fundraising~ thank you all for all your support, it means the world.xx
