Westpac Rescue Helicopter Earthquake Appeal Nov '16

$2,531 donated
Given by 38 generous donors in 5 weeks

Please support us as Air Rescue responds to the devastating 7.5 earthquake and aftershocks in Canterbury and affected regions.

Canterbury

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter team are responding to the series of earthquakes that have affected our region dramatically.

We need URGENT support from our community - please make a donation to help our rescue efforts during this time of emergency when our resources are stretched to the limit.

Our base (Garden City Helicopters) has been set up as an operations centre for the deployment of resources as well as the air rescue service. The road is very badly damaged in the affected area and so helicopters are the main lifeline. All of the team are focused on dealing with the situation at hand.

We are working closely with the rest of Emergency Services to help where possible. The main rescue helicopter was deployed to the scene soon after midnight on Monday, transporting in medical personnel & working with Police and LandSAR.

Garden City Helicopters are also helping to get in supplies and are doing a road survey with Transit NZ - the road has been very badly damaged.

We also need to remember that it is business as usual for our rescue crew - there have been several medical emergencies that are unrelated to the earthquake that we still need to respond to.

Please donate today to support Air Rescue's earthquake relief efforts.

Thanks for your support everyone, and stay safe!

We have been using all of the resources at our disposal to provide the best care and service to Kaikoura and the surrounding region in the wake of the devastating earthquake.

Please go the extra step today and share the link with your friends, family and colleagues - we need to get the word out that Air Rescue needs urgent support from our community. We need you as much as you need us.
