Support a Kiwi's Orang-utan Conservation Project

$1,956 of $3,000 goal
Given by 28 generous donors in over a year

Support a wild-at-heart Kiwi on her next conservation journey: the depths of Borneo's jungle to help rehabilitate rescued orang-utans.

Nationwide

Every year Samantha ventures overseas to support a wildlife conservation/rescue/rehabilitation project. In 2016 for several months she will be working with the Sepilok Orang-utan Rehabilitation Center in Borneo for the first time, where not only orang-utans are cared for but also other primates, bears, rhinoceros and the occasional injured elephant. Most of the animals in the care of this organisation have been rescued after being affected by illegal logging, deforestation and the black market pet trade.

Once animals have been appropriately rehabilitated, they are released into protected natural forest to live their lives as wild animals once again. The Bornean orang-utan is an endangered species with numbers that are rapidly declining. Programs like this are imperative to the survival of their species.

Organisations such as this are not government-funded and rely solely on donations. Sam is raising money that will go directly to the care of these animals, and to help guarantee ongoing support for them. You can help make a difference by supporting Samantha's overseas conservation work. Any support is incredibly appreciated!
