    These are Nico’s Beads of Courage. Each bead represents a treatment (for example chemotherapy, injections, scans); an experience (hair loss, isolation, fever) or a milestone (completion of treatment). For each medical procedure or treatment he receives a bead.

    At the age of 2 our brave boy has over 400 Beads… this includes over 100 blood draws, 55 clinic visits, 46 nights in hospital, 11 lumber punctures and 6 blood transfusions.

    Crazy proud of our courageous, brave son!

  • New round of treatment - delayed intensification

    On Thursday we started a new phase of treatment called delayed intensification. We started with a general anesthetic and theatre for a lumbar puncture, then 2 chemo's via IV and another oral chemo. Nico coped really well and was even keen to go to the playground on the way home!
