At 38 years of age with girls Cameron 10 & Alex 5 Amanda's only hope is this unfunded immunotherapy drug with it's brilliant success rate.
Wellington
Amanda has been in remission for a few years with Malignant Melanoma but now it has gone through her body, and is in her brain. She had 2 tumors removed recently and has discovered more tumors in her stomach and breast. She does not have the funds to do this treatment without your help nor the time. She is very brave and strong but at times she has wondered if she can carry on but her children and her partner give her the love she needs to be strong and they are what keeps her going.
I am Amanda's mum and I have shared her painful journey from the age of 33 to 38 and been amazed at her strength and courage. She has had numerous surgeries and the last one was surgery to the brain to remove 2 tumors at the front of her head and still has another two at the back. I know we can get this immunotherapy drug which has been approved in NZ for her, but unfortunately it is not funded here like overseas and the cost is prohibitive. ($375,000 I want to raise this money so that Amanda has the chance to have a life with her beautiful little girls and be around to watch them grow up so they can have their mum around for all their special moments, which is what these little girls deserve. These young girls need to be with their mum and their mum needs to be with them.
I know we can achieve this and I will do whatever it takes to get the word out to save my beautiful girl.
Car crash after a Siezure 19 December 2015
Hi everyone, Just letting you know that we nearly lost Amanda at the beginning of last week. she had a seizure when she was in her car and rushed by ambulance to Wellington Hospital and on the way had several more seizures. she was put in induced coma until they decided what should be done next. That afternoon they did emergency brain surgery which saved her life. She was in ICU for another day and then moved to the neuro ward to be watched 24 hours just in case she had another seizure. She has been so brave and we took her home yesterday.
She is weak on her left side and still slightly disorientated but with lots of love and rest I know she will move forward and upward every day. She is home now and she is safe. She hates hospitals with a passion having spent so much time in them recently.
This give a little fund expires on 23rd Dec. we are wanting to get her on Keytruda asap. so if you would like to assist before it closes, please do.
Thank you everyone for the wonderful support, generosity and love all her friends and love ones have shown her. She is a fighter and she will get through this I know. We want her here for her two gorgeous girls, Alex 5 and Cameron 10.
thank you again.
For Amanda my beautiful girl.
