    Well Team Indie we did it!

    Today we took delivery of her modified mobility van. Thank you to all the people who donated their time, presence and financial support. Collectively you have given India-Rose her freedom, independence and privacy. She will be able to continue to access the community like her peers, hooray!

    When I first learned we needed this vehicle and how much it cost, it was completely overwhelming and I simply could not imagine reaching this point. It has been an exercise in faith and perseverance, and total amazement at the love and support that exists for India-Rose and our whanau. So dance with delight and be happy! You did this for Indie and for that, we thank you.

  • We did it!

    SInce the page closed we had a few more donations and our final total we raised is now $70781.03

    I am so please to tell that we have ordered the van and it will go the modifcation company on Tuesday!

    In a few weeks it will be already for India-Rose, life is going to be so much easier with this van.

    To everyone that supported us, we thank you so much! Will be sure to send you a photo of Indie in the van when we get it :)

  • On the home straight

    As we head towards our target and reach the final days of our fundraising campaign we have started to negotiate with car dealers.

    We are pleased to say that we have been able to negotiate a very supportive deal with Giltrap VW and have consequently reduced our target from $78k to $72k.

    This has enabled us to place a deposit on the vehicle and they will hold it for us while we fundraise the balance.

    Due to the massive support of our community and networks, we only have $13k to go until our dream of keeping India-Rose mobile becomes reality.

    India-Rose has had a tough few months with repeated hospital admissions and winter bugs taking its toll. Just this week she has got her sparkle back! She rocked the dance floor at her kindy disco and has become Miss Chatty! Check out our facebook page for the videos, we are so blessed to have such a sweet and cute daughter and sister!

  • Indie and upcoming events

    India-Rose is doing well despite a few setbacks. Last week she went Starship via ambulance and then deteriorated rapidly on the ward the next day, she was transferred to PICU with acute croup and we had a very scary 24 hours while she fought to breathe and battled this nasty virus. That makes our fifth hospital stay this year, it gets quite tiring for all of us especially with the fundraising, but Indie soldiers on and so shall we.

    Everyday she is getting a little better and in the last two days she is back in her walker (first time since hip surgery in February!) and doing some home based physio with me. Today we had some extra help so we ventured out to Brickman - the boys and Indie loved it. So nice to do something together as a family. Indie said "Please can we stay a little bit longer" - she is very hard to resist so we had three little bit longers.
