My mother has recently lost her husband to cancer, and she has been left with debts to pay off which she cannot manage by herself.
Waikato
My mother Jacinta has just lost her husband (my father) to lung cancer. Mum emigrated from Fiji and has come from a poor family.
To help take on medical costs Mum and Dad took on debt to help pay for them. Mum and Dad were also devoted very much to family and worked hard to get me an education, which unknown to me at the time they took on debt for. Unfortunately Dad did not live to see me graduate last month.
Mum is a kind and charitable woman who will always try to help someone and give what she can despite her own circumstances. She is unable to work due to injury and is looking at ways to cut her costs to pay off these debts which won't be enough on her own.
I am setting this page up because I would like to see my Mum live out her years without the worry of debt and paying her bills at the same time. I am in my final year of study and am not making enough to support myself and my mother.
I would like to see my mother become as self sufficient as possible, have a decent quality of life and have a clean slate after the hardship she has been through the past year.
The is a plea for help from a son who wishes he could do more for his mother than he can otherwise achieve at this moment.
Your donations to this cause would be very much appreciated.
I'm involved because I love my mother and I want to see her stand on her own two feet and live debt free. My mother is a strong woman who has been through a lot this past year. I am involved because it is my role to do whatever I can to help my mother.
Day 1 7 July 2015
Hi Everyone,
Firstly I want to thank everyone who has donated towards helping Mum out. After 1 day, $1500 has been raised! I really appreciate any donation that is made, big or small. Every bit counts. There is still a long way to go though to reach the goal and sharing this page to others would be greatly appreciated as well to help meet our goal.
