Top Surgery Fundraiser

Hey everyone!

So, for those who don't know me, my name is Sam and I am almost 20 years old! I'm a pretty average guy, apart from one thing, I am transgender. That means, I was born in a female body, but I identify as being male. I couldn't tell you why this happens, but I can tell you how I plan on fixing it!

I have started Hormone Replacement Therapy, for 21 months now which is basically getting injections of Testosterone, the male hormone. This was a big step at the beginning of my transition, and it meant that my body would slowly go through a sort of second puberty again, and things began to change with my body. My voice got deeper, I gained a fair amount of body hair, started to get a few hints of some facial hair growing now, and general body shape and weight distribution has changed. So now, I pretty much look like a normal teenage boy when I'm out and about.

But what's hidden is that I still have to wear a binder every day to flatten my chest and give it a more male appearance. A binder is a sort of undershirt which is made of ridiculously uncomfortable material, and pretty much just pushes my chest/breast tissue closer into my body so it's not so noticeable. This is incredibly uncomfortable and painful to do, and I have ended up having to see doctors many times because it has resulted in damage to my ribs and bruising of my lungs. Binding is a necessity to me right now, and I want to change that.

There is a surgery that can fix my chest, remove the breast tissue and reconstruct a more male appearing chest. However, this costs between $12,000 - $15,000! Not something that most people can just pull out from under their bed. That's where you guys come in! I am working hard at my full time job to save for this surgery, but my goal is still ages away! If any of you are in a position to donate any money, I would be extremely grateful for your support. Every little bit counts! Even it it's just $1, all the little bits add up and I'll have my surgery in no time!
