Help FSH rebuild early childhood centres & schools in earthquake devastated rural Nepal, using the earthbag construction method.

International

First Steps Himalaya supports early years education in rural villages in the district of Sindhupalchok, approximately 70kms from Kathmandu. This district was the worst hit district in the Nepal April & May 2015 earthquakes, with high levels of destruction to buildings and high loss of life.

Help us to rebuild early childhood centres and schools using the earthbag construction method. This method is highly earthquake resilient, and low cost.

FIRST STEPS HIMALAYA's involvement (page creator)

We are passionate about getting earthbag building methods in use in rural Nepali schools as this is the one of the safest construction methods in earthquake prone zones.

About us

We are a New Zealand registered charity providing improved early years education and community resilience in rural Nepal.

This donation matches a donation my colleagues in the Scottish Chamber Orchestra made to the Musician's Union Benevolent Fund in the UK, to mark my 45 years in the profession. An acknowledgement that I can share with them would be greatly appreciated. I hope to go to Nepal as a volunteer in the future.
