A defibrillator can increase the chances of survival of someone suffering a heart attack by up to 40%, providing much needed immediate trea

Nationwide

Each year more than 1000 Kiwis suffer a heart attack outside of hospital, many with no prior symptoms or warning. Less than 5-8% will survive without immediate treatment.

Dialling 111 and performing CPR is not always enough to prevent death, however use of an defibrillators can increase the chance of survival by up to 40%.

About us

The Wellington Jewish Community Centre is the focus of Jewish life in New Zealand's habour city capital. The Centre is home to Wellington’s 170 year old Orthodox Jewish congregation and many Jewish institutions such as a kindergarten, youth groups, the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand, a Kosher Coop, and many social, cultural, and philanthropic groups and activities.

We're excited to say that we've received a separate donation for the complete amount to pay for a defibrillator. Until we figure out how to record that here you're welcome to still donate to this cause it will go to similar first aid projects around the Centre.
