DFNZ is focused on action-oriented activities to champion change for dyslexic individuals, and on providing information, tools and resources to inspire others to do the same. Personal responsibility and empowerment are key to taking effective action, and our ongoing work is designed to encourage and support schools, teachers, support staff, parents, employers and dyslexic individuals to make a difference.
2007: achieved official recognition of dyslexia by the New Zealand Government. 2008: launch of 4D | For Dyslexia (www.4D.org.nz) a revolutionary free programme providing schools with concrete steps to make positive changes for dyslexic children. 2009: introductory workshops for educators; new series of 4D webspaces and online resources for schools/home/workplace. 2010: continued expansion of 4D Programme: custom workshops for pre-schools/schools/parents/workplace.
