Coastguard is the charity saving lives at sea. Our rescue crews are volunteers, and we raise the majority of our funds from people like you.

We train and equip volunteer rescue crews so they can respond to marine emergencies, giving them the skills needed to provide first aid, navigate in difficult conditions, work as a team and bring people home safely.
At least 76 people would have lost their lives had Coastguard not responded to their calls for help last year. Thousands more get home safely because we respond quickly and professionally.

Coastguard is the charity saving lives at sea. Our volunteer crew are on standby 24/7 and are, on average, called out to marine emergencies every three hours. We need your help to provide gear, training and clothing to keep New Zealanders safe on the water.
