Through embracing the values of Kaitiakitanga -GuardianShip we wish to: - Preserve the tradition of tall ship sailing and R. Tucker Thompson - Allow those who sail in her to learn more about who we are, where we come from and where we are going - Make a positive difference to the lives of those who come on board
Our track record:
The ship has changed lives for 24 years since she was launched. We have delivered successful sail training programmes since 1995. Kids have returned to families and school more confident and with a sense of purpose, having a sense of achievement. Some outside of maintream have returned, while others have gone on to get jobs.

The ship has completed 5 youth sail training voyages in the past 2 months and is now undergoing maintenance. Huge job, and the ship is ripped apart as we investigate under the decks and inside the hull. First time the ship has been launched that we've been underneath there. If there any volunteers out there who might have time around the 2nd half of August who would be interested in working on a tall ship please let us know. We are particularly looking for woodworking skills as we intend to reinstate the woodwork so we have better future access.
