Kia ora!
The Miss Auckland Pageant is fundraising for I AM HOPE NZ. As a finalist in this year's pageant, I hope to advocate for people to support each other with well-informed mindsets. I Am Hope's mahi in mental health awareness and education in rangatahi (young people) is critical to beginning healthy discussions about the importance of mental health awareness and learning skills on how to take ownership of their attitude towards mental well-being and deal with life's challenges.
This past year, I have worked as a Resident Advisor for the University of Auckland's first-year student halls. I've seen how mental health can affect young adults firsthand and have provided pastoral care for those struggling with stress, fatigue, and lack of self-confidence. I Am Hope helps to 'plant the seeds' for dealing with mental obstacles such as these in a healthy way.
WHAT IMPACT WILL YOUR FUNDRAISING HAVE?
"Your gift will help us to support our young people. This includes powering us to run and improve our school programmes, train new ambassadors, develop new initiatives, and support the engine holding it all together."
