Support DCM! An amazing organisation that does incredible mahi!

  • Thank you for supporting DCM!!

      4 January 2024

Our Walk A Mile fundraising challenge has ended and I wanted to say thank you so very much for supporting me and DCM! It was such an encouragement every time a donation alert pinged in my email. I really believe in the work we do and know it makes a difference to the people we support. I’m not going to force you into filling up your inboxes with emails, but if you are interested in getting regular updates about what we get up to at DCM, email matthew@dcm.org.nz and ask to get the monthly mail chimp newsletter. Even I love reading them and I work there! That’s how cool and inspiring this organisation is. Anyway, this was just me saying thanks!! I appreciated your financial support and your money will be used wisely and for the benefit of the people we support.

    Natalia

Several great musical acts come together to help end homelessness – supporting the work of DCM with those who need it most. And you can help too, by buying tickets to see Laura Collins & the Back Porch Blues Band, one man musical sensation Seamus Johnson, the one and only Dr Blue with Vicky Weeds, esoteric folk songwriter Beans and toe tapping band Two Times.

It's the official wrap up to the Walk a Mile Challenge for 2023.

There will also be a charity art auction at the event, run by a top auctioneer from Dunbar Sloane.

Working for DCM has serious highs and serious lows. Some of the lows are a consequence of caring for vulnerable people. I mean care in the broadest sense - practically, emotionally, in time and energy. Bittersweet but worth it.

Who needs four legs when you can leap with one! We did lots of walking over the weekend. Such a blessing to have a long weekend, spending time with family, walking along the beach, getting some vitamin D and clocking up some miles. What a pleasant surprise to come back to mahi and see so many donations from such kind and thoughtful people! Thank you all very much for supporting DCM in this way.
