Rotorua Horse and Land owners urgently need your help and support!!!!

Help us retain the right as small block /lifestyle owners to utilise and graze our land in a fair and practical manner with our horses.

We have employed one of NZ,s top lawyers Mae Chen to help us fight this battle.

Enviroment BOP are proposing hugely unfair Nitrogen restrictions on small block / lifestyle owners in the Rotorua catchment.

This will see us have to reduce our horse and grazing animals significantly on our properties to meet the rediculous10kg per hectare they are proposing on small block holders.

If you are over 10 hectares you will also be required to get a resource consent at a huge cost to you the land owner.

The big players and biggest polluters of Nitrogen into our lakes have negotiated their Nitrogen allocations and its business as usual for them.

Meanwhile small block lifestyle owners have not been consulted, we have not had a voice and are being absolutely crippled by these hugely unfair Nitrogen restrictions placed on us

What does this mean for small Block /Lifestyle owners?

Example...A 20 acre block that is 95% grazed will be restricted under the new 10kg per hectare rule to 4-5 horses with no other grazing stock allowed..

This is why we need your help and your donations no matter how big or small.

Remember what happens in Rotorua will be the template for all regional councils in the future.....So yes you will be next, so help us fight this!!!

I was brought up on a small lifestyle block. I'd hate to think that my children won't have the same opportunities as I did, owning & riding our own & our neighbours horses, running sheep, grazing beef, flattening up some pigs etc. That's what lifestyle blocks are all about, the interaction with the land & animals shape you as a person, loved it, still do, hands of!!
