Milla's Fundraising for Gabby's Starlit HOPE

I have created this page because I want to make a difference. My name is Milla I am 13 years old and Im aiming to fundraise as much as I can for an amazing local charity Gabby's Starlit HOPE. I am a finalist in Miss Diamond International 2020 representing Team New Zealand and one of the main purpose's of this event is to provide a platform to raise awareness and fundraise for a charity.

Gabby's Starlit HOPE - Is a charity that was started by a 13yr old Gabby Devine. Gabby experienced first hand the harsh treatment required in the battle against cancer. Her vision was to provide random acts of kindness (RAK) to children in hospital especially cancer children and their parents and families. Sadly Gabby passed away in May 2015 yet not before her charity had developed into making a difference to sick children going through their varying challenges in life. Her achievements have led her to win many awards including a National Youth award for giving back and being the Taranaki Daily News Person of the Year in 2016.

Gabby's Starlit HOPE Random Acts of Kindness (RAKS) include

* Providing Boredom boxes to the two main Oncology centres Christchurch and Starship

* Providing superhero bravery packs(including a certificate and bravery pack)

* Providing Giant Boredom boxes for children undergoing radiation treatment at Starship hospital

*Providng Mother Day, Fathers Day, Easter and Christmas RAKS to Oncology children, their parents and staff in oncology wards and also bereaved parents.

* Doing special RAKS to celebrate Gabby's Birthday and Anniversary.

* Providing special RAKS to oncology kids that are suffering significantly - including small parties and special customised boredom boxes.

* Supporting Taranki Oncology families including proving birthday parties and presents.

* Providing RAKS for the New Plymouth Childrens Ward and ensuring the ward is supplied and stocked with items to make a childs stay more entertaining.

* Providing Starlit HOPE dinners to parents on the Starship Oncology Ward

* and many, many more......

I am a student at Sacred Heart Girls College the school Gabby Devine attended and her legacy of kindness she has left behind for all of us is inspiring. I hope I can help to make a small difference to her charity that her parents now carry on in her name. All money I raise will go towards helping them do Random Acts of Kindness for sick children and their families.
