Runners from Holmes Consulting Group pound the pavement for Healthy Future Families Trust
Wellington
As a company we at Holmes Consulting Group always strive to be leaders in our field. Performing every task to the best of our abilities, while encouraging others to think outside the box and give it a go - extracurricular activities are no exception.
This year a selection of runners from HCG's Wellington office have put their hands up, shoes on and fundraising and time goals on paper for the Armstrong Motor Group Wellington Marathon. Now it's your job to help us "put the money where our mouths are” and help us reach our fundraising goal.
***Who are we fundraising for?
The Healthy Future Families (HFF) Trust is a charitable organisation operated by a group of health professionals who volunteer their time to health promotion projects in the Wellington region, to aid in the prevention of obesity and related chronic disease. The vision of the HFF Trust is for all New Zealand children to live in an environment that enables and supports healthy eating and physical activity. They are concerned about the number of children that they see in clinical practice who are overweight and developing serious health problems one such case is type 2 diabetes, a potentially devastating and incurable disease that in many cases can be prevented.
The HFF Trust aims to partner with individuals, family/whanau, groups and organisations who are committed to improving the health and wellbeing of the community. So that together they can reduce the incidence of obesity and type 2 diabetes, particularly in children.
The HFF Trust receives no government or District Health Board funding. Therefore they rely on self-generated funding to support their projects. We feel the work they perform within Wellington Communities enabling children to shape their futures is invaluable. This makes them the perfect charity for our sweat and your support.
