15 Years on my head and now I am chopping of my dreads - all for a special little girl called Maddy who needs an operation to walk.
Nationwide
I have lovingly maintained my dreads for just over 15 years but the time has come to take the chop and cut them off in support of Maddy. This very special little girl is very dear to me and what better way to offer my support than to give something up I hold dear - yes my hair. Maddy has Cerebral Palsy - Spastic Diplegia and cannot walk. She needs surgery in the USA in May to enable her to walk unaided and have a life of independence. She is on a journey to raise 140,000 and I want to help her get there.
I am a little nervous at having my locks cut off and would ask for people to get behind me and lend their support.
I have 80 dreads and would love to raise between $50-$100 per dread but of course all donations kindly appreciated.
Maddy has been apart of my life now for 3 years and holds a very special place in my heart. I have watched her try so hard to gain some independence but without being able to stand on her own two feet means she has come up against lots of obstacles that many 5 year olds never have to go through. Giving her this opportunity to walk will mean her quality of life will increase 100% and just to see her walk up to me and give me a hug means the world.
