To help raise funds for Kiwi children living with burns.
Waikato
At age 9, I was involved in a bonfire incident, where I sustained 65% third-degree burns to my face, chest, arms and back, I spent many months in hospital and as time went by underwent many operations, the road to recovery was long and for a child, an extremely difficult and daunting one, it was around this time that I first met the amazing people at Burns Support Group Charitable Trust, they shined a little light into a rather dark and difficult time in my life and filled it with joy and happiness even if it was just for a moment.
I am raising funds for this charity with the hopes that the same joy and happiness that I had received in my time of need is passed on to Kiwi children who may need it just as much as I did, this charity has supported me immensely throughout my years of rehabilitation, your support will ensure that Kiwi children and their whanau are well supported long after they have been discharged from hospital. I have been fortunate enough to have been a recipient of this charity's support services and have a lot of fond memories of the many children’s camps and events held throughout the year, these are funded out of the kindness and generosity of Kiwis and are designed to help children develop their confidence in being in their new skin, meet other survivors and to form life long relationships, so join me in raising funds for the Burns Support Group Charitable Trust, so that they can continue to do the amazing work they do for Kiwi children living with burns.
Hi, Kelli, Thank you for your generous donation. First of all sorry to hear about your Mum, I hope she is doing well in her recovery, I am inspired in knowing that she too is a burns survivor and has gone to sit at the board of such an amazing organization, perhaps I may even meet your parents in person sometime in the near future. I wish you and your family well and best wishes.
