Running 47km for my 47th birthday to raise funds for mental health and suicide awareness.
Rolleston, Canterbury
Let's be honest, our mental health and suicide stats in this country are pretty crap!
In April, I turn 47 and my good mate Tarryn has his birthday 3 days before me. We are going to 'celebrate' by running 47km, from Sumner into town, along the Rail Trail to Lincoln and across to Rollleston, finishing at the rugby club. We aim to finish around 2pm on Saturday 27 April.
This will be a bloody tough run, by far the longest we have done. No doubt we'll hurt and struggle, but not as much hurt and struggle as lots of people doing it hard out there at the moment.
All of our funds are going to I AM HOPE and Gumboot Friday for the amazing work this charity do with our young people. We've done a couple of events for them now, and as long as they keep changing lives, we'll keep donating.
Never too late when it comes to helping our young people! Thank you so much!
Thank you very much Samantha, much appreciated.
