The epic journey to complete 42km has been done. Am very happy to have finished the beast in just under 5 hours.

Thanks to everyone for your generous support & donations to this cause. When the legs were hurting those last 3-4km, I had the image in my head of the kids & mothers in South Sudan that we would be impacting together through this race, and it gave me extra strength and encouragement to get me through to the finish line.

So thanks once again for the important part that you've played in this journey!

One more week to go till 42k D-Day. Thanks everyone for your support! Am now almost at 50% of my original goal of raising $4,000. Thanks everyone for being part of the team :)

Just an update: Longest training distance I've managed is ~24km (2hrs 30min) run.. had hoped to get up to the 30km region before, but with the run next week, I'm having to tone it down to prevent injury and be well rested for next Sunday morning's run.

If you haven't already, and are keen to see what else Jono & Destinee are doing in South Sudan, go check out their:

Take care all, and go the ABs!

Will be watching the 1st half of the NZ vs. Australia Rugby World Cup from the start line next Sunday, but will miss the 2nd half :(

  • Only 3 Weeks to Go!

      10 October 2015

Only 3 weeks to go before the big 42km, and despite being 4 weeks out of action in China (only couple runs on treadmill) and 2.5 weeks out with a knee injury, I'm back in action..

Started with a 45min jog on Thurs, and managed a 2 hr run (19km) today... a bit behind, but still on track! Thanks all for supporting & keeping me motivated!

  • Question: Can we help the McLeod family in other ways?

      7 October 2015

Thanks to all my sponsors for your generosity!!! Got the question below from one sponsor:

Q: "Can we help the McLeod family in other ways?"

    A: Best options would be:

    1) Check out their Givealittle page - Kiwis for South Sudan - & donate to their ministry directly: https://givealittle.co.nz/org/KFSS

    2) Follow them on their Facebook page, and get in contact with them there: https://www.facebook.com/macleodsonamission

Thanks again for your wonderful support!
