Melanoma New Zealand

Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge for Melanoma 2016

$598 raised

To fundraise for Melanoma NZ & help us raise awareness, prevent avoidable deaths & provide support for those affected by melanoma.

Nationwide

Cyclists will take part in the 160km Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge, fundraising & raising awareness for Melanoma NZ. Cyclists who raise over $100 get to wear & keep a very cool sponsored Melanoma NZ cycling jersey. Participants can cycle the 160km right around Lake Taupo individually or as a team on Saturday 26th November.

Melanoma New Zealand work hard to prevent avoidable deaths and provide support for those affected by melanoma. NZ has the highest melanoma incidence rate in the world. Every year over 300 New Zealanders die from melanoma and there are 4000 new diagnoses. These are shocking statistics for a cancer that is largely preventable. More people die of melanoma than on our roads. We know that with more awareness, better prevention and earlier detection, fewer kiwis will die from this mainly avoidable disease. Melanoma NZ is the only melanoma specific group operating in this country and it receives no government funding; all campaigns and initiatives are made possible through the generosity of ambassadors, sponsors, grantors, fundraisers and donors.
