Givealittle Privacy Policy
Givealittle is committed to protecting your privacy. We recognise that giving is a very personal process so we take every precaution with the way we capture and use your personal information.

Your personal information
Under the Privacy Act 1993 (New Zealand law) you are able to access any personal information held by Givealittle about you, and correct or update your personal information at any time.
The Givealittle registration process requires minimal personal information (such as name and email address). Some Givealittle activity requires additional information in order to facilitate services for you.
Givealittle will never sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
Your personal information will only be disclosed if public authorities (including government agencies with statutory law enforcement responsibilities) require access to your details:
- to investigate legal compliance
- to facilitate court proceedings
Givealittle may use your personal information:
- to contact you when necessary about your activity on the website or your Givealittle account
- to provide you information about our company or changes on our website
- to enforce or apply our Terms & Conditions
- to protect the rights, property, or safety of Givealittle Limited, our members, or others.
Our general policy is to contact our members by email, however we may use other means of making contact with you (if that contact information is available).
As a member of Givealittle you are able to contact us at any time to verify if your personal information has been provided in any of the above circumstances.
Updating your member information
Givealittle enables you to change your personal information, including your email address, password and profile information through My Givealittle. We will store previous email addresses against your profile to ensure compliance with our Terms & Conditions.
Closing your membership
If you wish to have your membership removed from our system entirely, please contact us at support@givealittle.co.nz.
Member security
You are responsible for the security of your user name, email address, password, profile information and donation details. We do not recommend that you disclose your Givealittle registration details to any third parties. If you choose to share your personal information, including registration details with a third party you are responsible for any actions taken with this information.
Member communication
Givealittle only sends you email communication you opt-in to receive (such as a Cause Update), in addition to mandatory emails relating to registration and donations. Email communications can be managed through My Givealittle. You can be removed from any mailing list upon request. From time to time, Givealittle will send newsletters and other communications to members. These communications will contain instructions for how you can ‘unsubscribe’.
Payment security
We are committed to protecting the security of your personal information, including credit card information. Your credit card information is protected throughout the payment process using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, which encrypts your information during online transactions. Givealittle only retains a portion of your card details. Details may be held by Direct Payment Solutions (DPS) (please review their Privacy Policy).
Please make every effort to protect against unauthorised access to your Givealittle registration details and to your computer.
Cookies
Cookies are small pieces of information stored on your computer's hard drive when you access a website (and are also delicious with a hot drink). Most websites use cookies to provide useful features for their visitors.
Givealittle uses ’session’ cookies, which are removed from your computer once you leave the Givealittle site. Session cookies are used so we can remember that you have logged in recently without prompting you to do so again. We use Microsoft Active Server Pages which require the use of session cookies. Session cookies expire and are deleted after 20 minutes of inactivity on the Givealittle site.
Givealittle also uses ‘persistent’ cookies to individualise our service. We use them to help protect our members and provide us with research information (such as the frequency with which members visit Givealittle). Persistent cookies allow us to track members on Givealittle and identify members abusing the Givealittle site.
Other information
Givealittle collates additional information to better understand our members, including the site that you’ve just come from, the site you visit next, your browser and IP address. Your IP address makes up part of your personal information and as such will only be provided to legal authorities in events as described above. This information is stored securely. We may also collect messages you choose to post, and feedback you leave for other members on our site. Any correspondence you send us, such as emails or letters, or correspondence from other members or third parties relating to your activities on the site, may be collected.

Givealittle links to third party sites for the benefit of members. Givealittle does not control the content, privacy policies of these sites or endorse these organisations except where expressly stated.
