Help Save Our Creche

Dayspring Trust's Creche has been running for 35 years for vulnerable mums & at risk children. There is now an imminent threat of closure.

Auckland

Dayspring Trust is unique in that we have a creche onsite available to our mums so that they can participate in and concentrate on their programmes, confident that their children are safe and cared for. As there is no funding for this essential service, it is at risk of closure. Without this creche, many of our mums simply cannot attend invaluable programmes which would have a detrimental effect on their mental health and their child's wellbeing. Dayspring supports vulnerable families, especially women and their infants/small children who have experienced trauma, abuse and are living with mental illness or drug/alcohol related dependancy. Our services and programmes include Circle of Security Parenting, Secure Beginnings, Sewing, Creative Art, Exercise, Food & Mood, Support groups, Craft groups, One on One Mentoring, Counselling and an Op Shop.

By providing these services, we help vulnerable mothers overcome hardship and mental illness so that they raise their children in a healthier space and prevent child abuse.

About us

Our services include support groups, parenting courses, one on one mentoring with mothers, and counselling. We have a creche onsite to look after babies and small children so that mothers can concentrate on these programs

Use of funds

Funds will be used to pay wages for creche staff.

This creche is an essential component to our wrap around service and is open 5 days a week/as needed for up to 20 children at one time. We provide a safe, caring and fun environment for their children, so parents can feel confident leaving their children in our care. All staff are police checked and we have the appropriate policies in place to provide safety and accountability for this service. All staff hold a current first aid certificate.
