Update for 27/10/2010  27 October 2010

Not Performing the World now I've been reflecting and have decided that a trip to NYC is not the best move for me at this time. The trip will impact on me quite significantly financially and logistically and fundraising efforts have been slow. Unfortunately this creates a risk that, right now, outweighs the potential benefits of attending the Performing the World conference. As part of my reflection I realise that my passion is to continue the collaborative work I've been doing with composer Arli Liberman over the last 4 months, which is part of a wider project I've been working on for over a year now, also with Tony Lewis, to bring this collection of verse to life through music. Here's an example. It's a new area for me but one that I've been angling towards for many years. It feels like now could be the time. A hard and disappointing decision, but one that brings relief and a new focus. Going to perform at a conference is what I know. Considering making an album is new, scary and exciting ? which is why I know I need to do it!
