Help us build Piriharakeke Generation Inspiration Centre in Foxton so we can share our history, inspire rangatahi and save Manawatu River.

Manawatu / Whanganui

Piriharakeke Generation Inspiration Centre will celebrate and share the stories of Foxton and Ngati Raukawa and will be located in the new Te Awahou Nieuwe Stroom Complex by the Manawatu River Loop. We will celebrate and share the whakapapa, stories, taonga, contemporary art and reo of Ngati Raukawa and it's hapu. We will create an uplifting environment that engages all ages and cultures and create symbols and stories of the hapu settlement along and near the Manawatu River. We aim to build on the knowledge of not only our local community but those from further abroad about our local Maori history by displaying local Maori art, visual statements and information related to the local area. We want rangatahi to learn more about their connections and history and to be engaged with improving the mauri of our river. We hope to provide training and employment.
