Depression: Help me to make a change and get the word out there that 'its ok' :-)

Waikato

As I have emerged from this illness, I have written a blog which has documented my journey. The New Zealand media are not interested in running this story which happened to an average, everyday hardworking mum and gran. The story is just not 'sexy' enough!

I am now promoting my blog on Facebook as a means to get this story out and let people know they are not alone. I am prepared to speak, put myself out there and work towards a law change which would see a 'Mental First Aid' policy in place for every workplace in New Zealand and hold negligent employers to account. I would also like to see a change in ACC law to accommodate workplace mental injury recognised under the law.

To proceed further, I need help. The promotions on Facebook are becoming too expensive for me to handle alone and every little bit would help.

I am gaining as much information as I can from the Black Dog Institute in Australia to help me put papers together to help with my mission.

Please read the blog and also the Facebook link for verification of my intent. I will not give up on this. It is far too important.
