Luke Elliott's L.A Stroke Treatment

  • Update for 29/08/2014

      29 August 2014

Hi Everyone, Luke and I have a small but important favour to ask of you all... Our amazing friend Aliesha has kindly nominated Luke as the Repco Dad of the Year. The prize - $10,000! Our Givealittle page is now up to $20,000, so this could be the last $10,000 that we need to get Luke to LA for his stroke treatment! Luke is currently coming in at 3rd place with just over 1,000 votes, but the leader has almost 3,000 votes! You can vote a maximum of 5 times, so the easiest thing to do is to hit vote and refresh 5 times until you reach your limit - it should take less than 2 minutes. If you have trouble voting, please try opening the link in Google or Safari. And most importantly, please share, share, share! A HUGE THANK YOU to you all for your ongoing support during our fundraising journey - we are feeling truly blessed and forever grateful! http://dadoftheyear.co.nz/?showentry=178374 OR: http://www.dadoftheyear.co.nz/ View & Vote, then Most Popular, Luke Elliott xoxox Luke, Kylee, Mason & Mitchell Elliott xoxox

Well, the generosity of people is just continuing to completely blow Luke and I away! We are now at $19,000 - simply amazing! We just cannot thank you all enough. A very special friend of ours Mr Anthony Simons has set up several TradeMe auctions, selling pieces of art to raise money for Luke's cause. The artwork is pretty AMAZING and definitely worth checking out! https://touch.trademe.co.nz/search/type=Search+generalSearch_keypresses=6+generalSearch_suggested=0+category=0+search_string=mrants

Two weeks ago we sat down and created a Givealittle page to raise money to get Luke to L.A for stroke treatment. It's been a very emotional couple of weeks, and boy have Luke and I felt the love big time! We really cannot express how grateful we are to everyone who has supported us so far in so many different ways, we are truly blessed. Tonight's Givealittle total is $16,496 - simply amazing!!!

Our beautiful & caring Goddaughter Alyssa decided that she wanted to raise money for Luke by selling her loom bands on Trade Me. Such a special thing for a 9 year old girl to want to do - very heart-warming. Her Mum Tanya posted a fantastic video clip of Alyssa and her loom bands on Facebook, she is such a little star! Please check out her Trade me listing, and in the words of Alyssa, bid, bid, bid! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=755933014

Wow, what a busy last couple of days! I received a phone call from the NZ Herald on Wednesday while with the kids at a very noisy and busy Chipmunks! Somehow I managed to carry out a 30 minute phone interview among hundreds of excited children! When we arrived home in the afternoon, a photographer turned up to take our family photo. Then the very next morning, I wake up to see that our story has been published in the NZ Herald - WOW! The generosity which followed was nothing short of amazing. We were in tears off and on all day yesterday, our phones and inboxes were constantly filling up with messages of support, and the donations were constantly coming in. A very special day for us indeed. Here is the article: http://m.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=11294688

We hit the $5,000 mark today - yippee! Each day we are getting closer and closer to Luke's Stroke treatment in L.A. A very exciting thought after 9 years without knowing of a drug which could possibly help Luke to regain some of what he has lost!

A HUGE THANK YOU again for all the amazing support that we are receiving, it's been very overwhelming in a positive way. It is all seeming very real now, and very exciting indeed!!!
