They had been living in Australia and decided to travel in NZ by bike as they have never bicycle toured before and they love to seek out new experiences in life. Chiara is new to biking and her attitude towards bikes has completely changed since hopping on her new Merida just 3 weeks ago, she loves the new found sense of freedom she gets from riding.
They both love traveling by bike and the the ability to really experience the journey and see so much more instead whizzing by everything in a car. With fully loaded touring bikes, they feel a great sense of satisfaction making it to the top of each hill along the way.
Unfortunately, both of their bike were stolen their first night here in Rotorua! READ HERE http://www.nzherald.co.nz/rotorua-daily-post/news/article.cfm?c_id=1503438&objectid=11361561
Sarah Pitche-Campbell and Marcelo from Mountain Bike Rotorua & Tim from Nduro Events have been seeking out help from the local business community to help them get their bikes replaced and also to use the "delay" here in Rotorua to experience some of the many positive adventure activities and cultural experiences that Rotorua has to offer.
The show of support has been tremendous, the Backyard Inn has taken care of their accommodation, and Te Puia, Ogo, Skyline, Mountain Bike Rotorua, Rainbow Spring and Kiwi Encounter, and the Polynesian Spa have all stepped up to showcase the best that our community has to offer.
Bike Barn has offered to help replace the bikes at a significantly reduced rate and allow them use of their hire bikes until their bikes are replaced and they can continue their journey South, eventually ending up in Queenstown where they hope to find work for the winter season on the slopes.
Our mission is to raise $1200 for these girls to help cover the cost of replacing their gear, Ezra and Mickey from Bike Barn in Rotorua will cover the rest
$499 per bike
$59 per rear rack
$20 bottle cages
$24 per bike for bar ends which is $1190.
Cheers, Marcelo, Sarah and Tim
